Lynn Martin is both a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (with training in psychotherapy) and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (with training in psychiatric medication management). She currently practices only as a Clinical Nurse Specialist offering psychotherapy and is licensed in both California and New York. Lynn has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is nationally certified by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy as a psychotherapist, trainer and consultant. She has worked in the Departments of Psychiatry at Yale, Columbia, and Cornell University Medical Centers, and trained with world-renowned experts in the fields of psychiatric research and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy for anxiety and mood disorders. After moving to the West Coast, she continued this work at UCSF Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and Clinics, at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in her private practice, and in teaching affiliations at UCSF and UC Berkeley.

In her private practice, Lynn currently provides cognitive behavioral psychotherapy for people living with anxiety and/or mood disorders. She works with adults, older adults and older teens. She specializes in working with people with Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, Social Anxiety, Phobias, Panic, OCD and Depression. She also specializes in helping older adults and families cope with issues of aging and cognitive decline. Sessions are provided via telehealth to individuals located in California or New York.

PUBLICATIONS & EDUCATION

Lynn Martin has co-authored 17 peer reviewed journal articles on anxiety and mood disorders, and one on a treatment intervention for dementia. She offers lectures for community education and colleague enrichment. Lynn Martin has a master’s degree from Columbia University. She is a certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, and psychotherapist. She currently practices as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and psychotherapist.
