What is Cognitive-Behavior Psychotherapy?
Cognitive-Behavior Psychotherapy (CBT) focuses on the thoughts, physical symptoms & behaviors that comprise an area of emotional difficulty. Controlled clinical trials of treatment for Anxiety & Mood disorders demonstrate that CBT decreases symptoms in 60-80% of sufferers. The goals of CBT are to decrease the intensity & frequency of symptoms, increase coping skills & prevent relapse.
